👨‍💻 Hi, I'm John!

I’m in charge of all the words at Wayhome.

One of my jobs is to make sure that what we say and how we say it, are both clear and useful for you. And, my goodness, there's a lot to say, because we're creating a completely new way to buy homes.

That’s why I decided to write this guide. It’s to give you an idea about how we might help, how it all works, and what that might mean for you.

I want it to be a place you can return to, to find whatever you need. Hopefully, you’ll find it useful.

Honestly, when I first joined the company in September 2018, it took me a while to get my head around it. Especially because we’re dealing with big, important topics like money and buying property, which can sometimes be complicated and quite overwhelming.

So, if you’ve been sent here by a friend, or followed a link in an email, then I completely understand if you feel a little lost with buying a home and how we might be part of that.

📖 How to use this guide

You can read it in 2 ways:

  1. Beginning to end, like a book. This will be most useful for people who know almost nothing about buying a home, mortgages, Shared Ownership and how Wayhome is different.

  2. Jump to any section using the navigation on the left. This will be most useful for people who already know a bit about us, but want more specific information.

👈 Use the menu on the left to navigate the whole guide

👉 Use the menu on the right to navigate the page you're on

🔍 Use the search tool to find specific information (top left)

🤔 What's in this guide?

I’ve included answers to all the questions people ask us as well as the things that I find helpful to understand Wayhome.

If you have a burning question that this guide doesn’t answer, why not give me a shout at [email protected] and I’ll email you back an answer.

If enough people ask the same question, I’ll probably find a home for it in this guide.

🙋‍♀️ If you need more help

You can always use the live chat at wayhome.co.uk, or give us a ring on 020 3389 8656 if you prefer speaking on the phone.

OK, let's dive in.

First, let me tell you something that happened to me. I think it'll sound familiar...
