Selling your home
Ending the partnership and moving on is up to you. Nobody can ask you to leave, as long as you’re paying rent and looking after your home. We want you to feel safe and secure.
But, you still might want to sell, for example, if you need a bigger home for a growing family, or if your work situation changes.
Because you bought the home as a partnership, you sell as a partnership. So the first thing we need to do is find out what the funding partners would like to do. We give them 3 months to decide if they want to:
buy your share from you
sell the home with you
If they decide to buy your share, we give them a further 3 months to buy it.
If the funding partners decide to sell with you, we help you both list the home for sale in the normal way. When it sells you split the proceeds based on your ownership. So, if by the time you sell it, you own 10%, you’ll get 10% of the sale price, minus your share of the costs to sell a home.
