Has Wayhome launched?
When we talk about 'launching', what we're really talking about is being able to buy homes. We can't buy homes just yet so we're pre launch.
Why we can't buy homes yet
We need FCA regulation
We can't buy homes until we’re regulated and authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). Getting FCA regulation can take a while. And because what we’re doing is very new, it’s important for them to be thorough. That’s how it should be. We want to do things the right way, with thought, care, and with your rights protected.
We're in constant contact with the FCA and we're coming to the end of their processes.
Covid-19 has had an effect
As I write this, we're in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. It's had a huge effect on all our lives, not least our families, jobs, and homes.
Obviously, when things change so drastically, everyone needs to take stock of the situation. We're all dealing with something new and there's no guidebook.
The same goes for the funding partners. They're big institutions, like pension funds, who make considered decisions and so, although they remain committed, things might take a little longer than we anticipated.
Should I wait until you launch?
You're free to wait until we launch to start the qualification process, or you can get ahead and start now. When we get the all clear to start buying homes, we'll prioritise people who've done our pre qualification steps.
